Hi! My name is Samantha and I have a passion for student development and academic success. My major is in psychology from The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). Most of my education took place at Austin Community College (ACC), where I received an AS in Math, an AA in Psychology, and a certificate in Addictions Counseling. I also have a minor in Actuarial Sciences from UNAM, in Mexico City.

I started as an international student, back in 2004. I spent 5 years at a community college (ACC) and then transferred to UTSA to complete my BA, and I did it in 1 year instead of 2 years (tested out of 7 courses by CLEP) ;)

I have been working in the higher education setting and in the student services capacity for eight years. Most of those years I worked part-time while being a full-time student. Today, I am a full-time employee at UT Tyler and hold a position as a Disability Case Manager. In addition to my formal job, I work independently as a student success professional, blogger, and wellness coach.

I enjoy helping people achieve their goals and I believe that we never stop being students because we learn new things every day.
